Watching your child suffer is every mother’s worst nightmare. And nobody knows that better than wish mom Heather. Now that she’s a volunteer who makes wishes come true for other kids, she knows how important wishes — and supporters like you — really are.
Every 20 minutes, a child like her son Westin is diagnosed with a critical illness. At just 10 years old, Westin was in constant pain. He and his family went from appointment to appointment until they got the heartbreaking news.
Westin needed a kidney transplant.
A wish made all the difference for Westin. Now, we’re hoping you’ll join us in granting a wish for another child who’s still waiting. |
The months leading up to his surgery and the recovery that followed were some of the darkest days his family had ever known. The sparkle in Westin’s eyes dimmed, and this usually joyful boy felt so down and out. Everything changed when Make-A-Wish® — and supporters like you — entered his life.
When Westin learned his wish would come true, something extraordinary happened. His upcoming trip to his favorite amusement park became his beacon of hope.
He fought so hard to get better. Once Westin was healthy enough, off they went! |
The week Westin’s family spent at an amusement park was more than a wish come true; it was a time for the entire family to heal. Supporters like you helped give this wish family something priceless.
The impact was so profound that Heather knew she had to give back. Today, she serves as a wish granter, volunteering for Make-A-Wish to help grant the wishes of other children fighting critical illnesses. People like you showed up for her family when they needed you most, and now Heather is proud and happy to show up for other wish kids.
Now, Heather’s mother and sister have joined her as volunteers. Soon, her oldest child will, too. Together, they are bringing transformative experiences to other wish families like their own. |
Please help grant more waiting wishes with a gift today. Your support honors the dedication of our volunteers while helping create life-changing wishes for children fighting critical illnesses.
Bring hope and joy to more wish kids and families ― donate now.
