In Gokwe North, Zimbabwe, Siphiwe, a mother and farmer, is transforming her family's life, one sunflower seed at a time ([link removed] ) . Her journey began with the Planting Seeds for Strong Communities project, a collaboration between Rise Against Hunger and in-country partner ADRA. Siphiwe gained invaluable agricultural training, learning to turn sunflower crops into cooking oil using an oil-pressing machine.

With her unwavering effort and newfound skills, Siphiwe has increased her family's household income by selling cooking oil and sunflower by-products within her community, opening doors to a brighter future. Her children can now attend school where they receive nutritious Rise Against Hunger meals ([link removed] ) made with locally sourced ingredients.
