John,
Thousands of you sent letters this week, urging Congress to stop plans to redirect billions of dollars to Pentagon contractors by cutting human needs programs like Medicaid and SNAP.
Extremists in Congress want to take health care and food assistance away from families struggling with the high costs of basic needs, paving the way for $880 billion in cuts to Medicaid and $230 billion in cuts to SNAP benefits while increasing the Pentagon budget by $150 billion and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) budget by another $175 billion. Much of this increased spending will go to pad the pockets of wasteful private contractors who also stand to get even more tax breaks if these policymakers get their way.
Congressional Republicans and the White House want to kick tens of millions of people off of their health care and deny food aid in order to fund Trump’s mass deportation machine and even more tax cuts for billionaires.
We’re working with our coalition partners to do everything we can to stop these disastrous funding cuts. Donate $5 today to fight back against cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and other critical human needs programs.

By now we’ve all read the reports of how federal contractors are price gouging the Pentagon by up to 40% in some cases.1 In fact, so-called defense corporations like Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Northrup Grumman get roughly half of the nearly $900 billion Pentagon budget every year.2
Much of this additional Pentagon and DHS funding will go towards paying for private prisons and detention centers used for family separation and mass deportations―and the corporations who own those prisons are seeing their profits soar.
Extremists in Congress are aiding this administration by proposing to gut funding for human needs programs in order to fund Trump’s mass deportation machine. The pain and misery funded by our tax dollars―and harmful cuts to human needs programs―must end.
