It’s a life-sustaining part of the ancestral homelands of the Tlingit and other Indigenous peoples. Eleven Southeastern Alaska tribes opposed repealing Tongass protections the last time Trump was president — but he’s overruling them and trampling Indigenous sovereignty once again.³
