Hey John, my name
is Tre. If you don’t know me yet, I’m a gun safety advocate and co-chair
of the board at March For Our Lives.
I’d like to share my story with you. It’s personal, and it’s what makes me
so passionate about ending gun violence.
[ [link removed] ]I hope you’ll stick with me to the end, but if you’re in a rush, can
you donate $20.25 to March For Our Lives today to celebrate our
7th anniversary?
In 2005, my cousin Vincent Avant was shot and killed while sitting in a
car just a few blocks from home. In 2006, my brother Terrell Bosley was
shot and killed while at church for band rehearsal in Chicago.
This was one of the hardest times of my life — I was overtaken by sadness
and anger. I felt alone, hurt, and helpless.
I didn’t know what to do with those feelings until I connected with
B.R.A.V.E. (Bold Resistance Against Violence Everywhere), a group full of
youth similar to me who were tired of Chicago’s gun violence and ready for
a change.
Unfortunately, my story isn’t unique. So many kids in Chicago know someone
who was taken far too early by a gun. I want to put a stop to this cycle
of violence.
Since I started my advocacy work, I’ve led protests, mentored youth, run a
marathon to raise money for gun safety, and spoken with dozens of elected
officials and celebrities about this preventable violence.
I even spoke at the first March For Our Lives in 2018 — seven years ago
next week!

I’ve seen firsthand what we’ve been able to accomplish together since
March 24, 2018. When young people come together, we’re unstoppable!
[ [link removed] ]John, we
couldn’t do this work if it weren’t for you. It would mean so much to me
if you could pitch in $20.25 today to fuel our movement to end
gun violence.

Your Personal Invite To the Movement Fund 💌💙
At March For Our Lives, we call our monthly supporter program The
Movement Fund.
Why are monthly recurring donors so important? The amount of one-time
individual donations we receive as an organization varies vastly from
month to month.
Without a steady stream of monthly donations coming in our door, it
would be impossible to accurately plan our budgets, create long-term
strategies to win a future free from gun violence, plan and execute
on-the-ground organizing efforts, recruit and train more gun safety
champions, and more.
[ [link removed] ]One of the best ways that you can help sustain our movement is by
becoming a recurring monthly donor. Can you sign up today?
