Welcome to The Shreve Bulletin. I'm honored to represent Indiana's 6th District in Congress. I want to share this update on some of what I've been up to. Click here to continue receiving email updates from my office.

Taking the Oath of Office

I was sworn into the House of Representatives on January 3rd. I’ve been blessed by this opportunity to represent the citizens of Indiana’s 6th district.

Introduced First Bill to Secure the Border

Countless COVID-relief funds have been mishandled for years. It’s time to put these remaining unspent funds toward something the American people want: A secure border. My first bill, the Build The Wall Act, delivers for every Hoosier community and family that felt the impact of Biden’s policies that led to an open border. It’s past time to secure the entirety of our southern border.

Delivered On Conservative Promises

I've sponsored legislation that secures our southern border, protects Second Amendment reciprocity rights, supports the right to life, and lowers our energy costs. I came to Congress to get things done. I've had the opportunity to work with my Republican colleagues to deliver on our promises. Click here to read more.

Combating The Fentanyl Crisis

spoke on the House floor to honor the memory of Joey Handlon of Greenwood. Joey lost his life to fentanyl in 2022. We’ve got to address the fentanyl crisis head-on. We can save lives – and in doing so, honor Joey Handlon's legacy. I voted to pass the HALT Fentanyl Act making deadly fentanyl substances permanently illegal and giving law enforcement the tools they need to keep fentanyl off our streets.

Indiana Delegation Demanding Answers for Delays at Indy Distribution Hub

Countless Hoosiers have reached out to my office about their packages being stuck at the USPS Indianapolis distribution hub. I led the entire Indiana delegation in demanding answers from the Postal Service on their unacceptable service to taxpayers.

Laken Riley Act

I voted to pass the Laken Riley Act, which was later signed into law by President Trump. It ensures that criminal illegal migrants -- like the one who murdered Laken Riley, will be detained and deported. No family should suffer an avoidable tragedy like that again.

House Committee Appointments

I've been appointed to serve you on both the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the House Foreign Affairs CommitteeI’m eager to advance the priorities of our district and our country from these key Congressional committees.

HOOSIER HIGHLIGHTS

I met with our Indiana National Guardsmen and women who were on duty in Washington for the Presidential Inauguration. I appreciated the opportunity to thank them for their service.

I joined a crowd of 200 for Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers’ annual State of the City address. Mark spotlighted the great work his team has accomplished over the past year – and the city’s priorities for 2025. I look forward to partnering with Mayor Myers to advance and enhance Greenwood! Greenwood is but one of the terrific communities I represent. Columbus and Franklin also hosted their State of the City addresses in recent weeks.

I sat down with Franklin College President Kerry Prather to learn of his priorities for the year. I appreciate his steady, innovative leadership. Franklin College is an anchor institution in Johnson County – with a proud 191-year history.

I accepted Governor Bruan's invitation to the Indiana National Guard Change of Command at the Indiana War Memorial. Thank you to Adjutant General Lyles for your career of service! And congratulations to General Meunnich on your command appointment by Governor Braun.

I enjoyed meeting with cadets from the Indiana Civil Air Patrol. It was good to talk with these student leaders about their experiences, and service to our state and nation. The sky’s the limit for these bright, young Hoosiers.

Visited Indiana Rail Road headquarters in Indy. I serve on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee -- and the Railroads Subcommittee. I’m working with members of the Indiana Railroad Association to advance our transportation priorities. Indiana is at the crossroads (and crossrails) of America!

Toured SABIC in Columbus to talk with and learn from their employees. They play a vital role in manufacturing essential plastics. We can take pride that their largest U.S. manufacturing presence is right here in Indiana. This was me at many plant tours I've taken this year. I learn so much from these opportunities.

I also had a good listen and learn opportunity with Indiana Credit Union leaders back in the district. 32 credit union branches serve 290,000 members in the 6th district.

Indy is home to the largest Burmese Chin community in the US — many of whom I call my friends and neighbors. Thank you for having me at your 77th National Chin Day event in Perry Township. I was honored to share some insights into my work on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and as a member of the Congressional Burma Caucus.
