My name is Artie Blanco, and I’m honored to be one of the new vice chairs of the DNC.

We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us, and in a minute, I’m going to ask for your support. But first, I wanted to share my story with you and a little bit about why I ran for this role.

I'm a proud second-generation union member activist, a lifelong Democrat, and a first-generation Mexican American. When I was in the eighth grade, my father — a machinist — had an accident on the job. He lost his right hand when the machine failed him, but his union contract did not fail me or my brother.

That's why I’ve dedicated my life to getting Democrats elected — but not just Democrats: pro-union, pro-labor Democrats.

We must not pass up opportunities to engage all communities in the work ahead. But more importantly, we must win elections for working people like my father.

This is my mission as DNC vice chair, and I’m ready to get to work. If you are too, I hope you’ll consider making a $25 contribution now to help us build a strong Democratic Party focused on helping working people:

I’ve spent many years working in Nevada, focused on expanding the Latino electorate. We’ve achieved record-breaking voter turnout — and we’ve done it by organizing year-round, building a relationship with working-class voters and their families, and engaging with hard-to-reach voters on the issues that really matter to them, not just the issues we want to talk about.

With your help, we’ll bring this strategy to Democrats nationwide.

Thank you,

Artie
