Despite the wave of mass opposition, John, Russell Vought has been officially confirmed as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget.
And while this outcome is not what we hoped for, we are proud of the powerful opposition you helped us create.
We saw how raising our collective voices can make a difference. Tens of thousands of messages were sent to Congress, people called to talk to their Senators and in turn we saw every single Democrat in the Senate vote against Vought’s confirmation and do everything they could to delay the vote.
At EDF Action, we know this nomination is a disappointment but we also know how important it is to continue advocating to protect our community health and climate progress. Here are ways you can act RIGHT NOW to help continue to make a difference:
For the first time in 20 years, we have the chance to upgrade protections from dangerous nitrogen oxide (NOx) pollution used in gas power plants. Write a letter to the EPA today to urge them to set the strongest pollution safeguards →

Pollution, natural disasters, climate change, extreme temperatures and so much more are plaguing our planet. We cannot take our eyes off of our work to protect human and environmental health outcomes.
Regardless of leadership in Washington, EDF Action will continue to work to protect climate progress.
Thank you for joining us in this fight.
