In exchange for hundreds of millions in campaign donations and free promotion on Twitter/X, Trump has allowed Elon Musk to set up shop and take a wrecking ball to the federal government.

Elon Musk has hired a crew some of whom are fresh from high school to dismantle the federal government from the inside out. With his “Department of Government Efficiency,” (DOGE) Musk has set fire to institutions that have kept our government running smoothly for generations. While he claims to be “fighting waste,” he’s really cutting funding for programs that protect the American people and civil and human rights domestically and abroad.
It cannot be overstated—Musk and DOGE have not been empowered to make changes to our federal government by any act of Congress. Musk and DOGE reportedly have not undergone standard background checks that would allow them to access sensitive information from the government that they have strong armed their way into receiving. Musk has no government experience, only experience having his business interests investigated by the government.
Musk and DOGE aren’t traditional actors under the administration. The measures they’ve taken represent a full-scale attempted takeover to claim total authority over public spending, shred our safety net, and fundamentally reshape American life to make him and his billionaire friends even richer.
Musk and DOGE’s activities are as outrageous as they are illegal. Thank you for joining us in demanding that Musk be removed from government service!
