Financial Straitjacket Joe Biden’s disastrous presidency has been a gift to federal bureaucrats and a nightmare for hardworking Americans. His administration has unleashed a tidal wave of regulations, drowning businesses in red tape, killing jobs, and crushing our economy. The numbers don’t lie: a staggering $1.8 trillion in new regulatory costs and 356 million hours of extra paperwork—an all-time record of government overreach. Biden, a one-term wonder, has solidified his reputation as the most anti-business, anti-growth, anti-American president in history. His out-of-control Environmental Protection Agency alone slapped down $1.3 trillion in crippling regulations, targeting emissions and strangling our energy industry. This is all part of the radical left’s Green New Scam—designed to benefit special interests while hardworking Americans pay the price. Compare that to President Donald Trump’s administration, which has already drastically slashed regulations, lowered costs, and put America First. Under Trump, businesses thrived, jobs boomed, and government wasn’t in the way. He’s already made it clear: he was serious about reducing the size and expense of government by dumping Biden’s disastrous regulation. That’s leadership. That’s results. That’s what America needs. Meanwhile, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—headed by the brilliant Elon Musk—is stepping up where the corrupt, deep-state-run Congressional Budget Office failed decades ago. The CBO has been manipulated by swamp creatures for too long, pushing fake numbers to serve the political elite. DOGE is different. It’s bringing transparency, accountability, and real oversight to the bloated mess of Washington. And this lifeline comes not a day too soon. Thanks be to God. America is now wide awake. The failed Biden experiment is over. The Great Comeback is happening. America's Golden Age has begun. We are so back. MAGA America First Always America First RFK Jr. Nomination Hunter Nation Mobilizes 250k in Louisiana, Sen. Cassidy Votes Yes Hunter Nation, America’s most powerful and influential conservative hunting advocacy group, has mobilized its Louisiana members in a final push to support Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination for Secretary of Health and Human Services. The group launched a massive outreach campaign, sending over 250,000 text messages urging Second Amendment supporters to pressure Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., to advance the nomination. On Tuesday, the Senate Finance Committee voted, and Cassidy’s “yes” vote pushed RFK Jr.’s nomination forward to a full vote in the United States Senate. While Cassidy, a physician, has expressed concerns about Kennedy’s views on vaccinations, Hunter Nation and its allies argue that broader public health issues remain the priority. On Monday, Hunter Nation released videos featuring Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry and U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins, rallying hunters and citizens to take action. Landry emphasized that Cassidy’s hesitation threatened President Trump’s America First agenda, while Higgins called on Louisiana residents to encourage the senator to support Kennedy’s confirmation. Hunter Nation founder Keith Mark praised Landry and Higgins for their leadership, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to protecting traditional American values. “Governor Jeff Landry is a true champion for hunters and Second Amendment advocates. Congressman Higgins is a freedom warrior as well! Hunter Nation is honored to work with them to make sure President Trump’s agenda stays on track. Hunter Nation will always stand with the American hunter, and that meant making sure Senator Cassidy hears our message loud and clear,” said Mark. RFK Jr. can afford to lose up to three Republican Senate votes and still meet the threshold for confirmation. Sanctuary Cities Blatantly Defy Law It’s Time to End Dangerous Recklessness by Mike Brown The Trump administration has taken a firm stance, launching bold legal action against Illinois, Cook County, and the City of Chicago for their blatant defiance of federal immigration laws. For years, these so-called “sanctuary” jurisdictions have shielded illegal migrants from deportation, undermining national security and putting law-abiding citizens at risk. This lawsuit is long overdue and sends a clear message: obstruction will no longer be tolerated. Chicago’s Welcoming City Ordinance and Illinois’ Trust Act are designed to tie the hands of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), making it nearly impossible for federal agents to do their jobs. These policies don’t just protect undocumented immigrants—they actively discourage and obstruct cooperation with federal law enforcement, allowing criminals to slip through the cracks. Instead of turning over violent offenders to ICE, officials release them back into communities, endangering innocent Americans and costing lives. These reckless officials must be held accountable for the damage their irresponsible policies have caused. Furthermore, they should be investigated for violating their sworn duty to uphold the Constitution. Their oath reads: “I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” Attorney General Pam Bondi wasted no time in making an example of Illinois. Other sanctuary cities should take note: federal immigration law is supreme, and noncompliance carries severe consequences. Those who Fool Around Find Out (FAFO). And this is just the beginning. The DOJ is prepared to hold every sanctuary jurisdiction accountable. Read that last sentence again. It is unthinkable that elected officials are prioritizing illegal aliens over American citizens and the safety of their communities. To the governments, elected officials, gangs, and criminals who have flaunted the law—the jig is up. The era of lawlessness is over, and law and order will once again reign supreme. Now, here’s another important question: Was all that excess federal COVID relief money returned, Johnson County Government? Asking for a friend named Pam. End US DOEd: Restore State and Local Control The Trump administration is taking decisive action to dismantle the bloated and ineffective Department of Education, finally delivering on a long-held conservative goal. This isn’t just bureaucratic reshuffling—it’s a return to constitutional principles, state sovereignty, and parental control over education. Since its creation in 1979 under Jimmy Carter, the Education Department has been a tool of leftist indoctrination, empowering unelected bureaucrats to impose radical policies on American children. Under the Biden administration, it pushed disastrous student loan forgiveness schemes, imposed woke gender ideology in schools, and trampled on parental rights. Enough is enough. Trump’s executive order will cut functions that aren’t explicitly mandated by law and move others to more accountable agencies. Predictably, the left is in panic mode. Teachers’ unions, entrenched bureaucrats, and progressive activists are scrambling to defend their fiefdom of federal overreach. Many locally elected school board officials will avoid taking responsibility for voting on initiatives that directly impact children’s education, instead using U.S. Department of Education mandates as a shield. The American people, however, have had enough of D.C. elites dictating what their children learn. Representative Thomas Massie’s bill to abolish the department by 2026 is the kind of bold reform Americans demand and Congress must embrace. The battle won’t be easy. The establishment will resist, and Democrats will fearmonger about education cuts. But conservatives must stay the course. Education belongs to parents, communities, and states—not federal bureaucrats. Trump is leading the charge, and America’s future depends on seeing it through. And remember, Kansas has proven for 30 years that endless money and fancy, opulent facilities don’t guarantee a better-educated child. Better-paid teachers and a return to the basics as the primary educational focus is the common-sense path to American educational success and student achievement. And that path doesn’t run through Washington, D.C. Kansas Government Efficiency Portal Now Open Kansas Legislature Seeks Public Input CLICK HERE Kansas residents now have the opportunity to share ideas on improving government efficiency through a new public portal. In our Constitution The Kansas Bill of Rights clearly states, “All political power is inherent in the people, and all free governments are founded on their authority”. But the Supreme Court selection process is controlled by a “nominating commission”, controlled by the Kansas Bar Association, with no connection to We the People. How exactly did we get to this place? It’s a long and relatively unknown story. At one time, Kansans enjoyed direct elections of our Supreme Court Justices, just like all other branches of our government. They, like other elected officials, were accountable to We The People. But in 1957 that all changed with the infamous political Triple Play. The Triple Play Governor Fred Hall, a young “firebrand politician”, had just lost his re-election bid. His political allies of those days wanted to keep their influence alive in the state, so they concocted a lame duck scheme to keep Hall politically viable. Here’s how the scheme unfolded: • Supreme Court Justice William Smith, 69, retired from the Court for “health” reasons. • Outgoing Governor Hall retired from his position as Governor, temporarily elevating Lt. Governor John McCuish to the Governorship. • New Governor McCuish then appointed previous Governor Hall to the Supreme Court, filling the vacancy left by the now retired William Smith. • This “Triple Play” took approximately 15 minutes to accomplish on January 3, 1957, just prior to the new administration being sworn in. Public Reaction It was their hope that these job switches would mostly go unnoticed during the holidays. They couldn’t have been more wrong. The public rightly reacted with outrage, demanding a change to prevent this kind of political trickery from ever happening again. Again, the Supreme Court Justices were elected directly by the public at that time. The only necessary change would have been to modify the mechanism for filling a vacancy. But in the heat of the moment the legislature and the public overreacted – instead opting to change the entire nature of the Kansas Supreme Court. The Nominating Commission They changed the Kansas Constitution to eliminate Supreme Court direct elections and instead established a nominating commission comprised of nine individuals. Those nine individuals have the authority to select three names and provide those names to the current Governor any time a Supreme Court vacancy occurs. The Governor must then select one of those names to be on the Supreme Court. If the Governor fails to select one of the three names, the Chief Justice of The Court makes the selection. The appointments to the highest Court in Kansas would now be made by the nominating commission, not the Kansas citizens. So, who gets to be on this powerful, unaccountable nominating commission? As if it isn’t grievous enough to take the power of selecting the Court away from the citizens, this nine-member commission is made up by the Governor appointing four members with the remaining five members (a majority) all appointed by the Kansas Bar Association. Let that soak in – instead of citizens, now lawyers get to choose who picks the Justices for Kansas’ highest court. The Kansas Reality Kansas became the only State which has a Supreme Court Nominating Commission with a majority of its’ members who are lawyers, elected by the rest of the Bar. In other words, we are the only State in which one profession, lawyers, has absolute control over the membership of the highest court in state government. With the Commission appointments being primarily dominated by large trial attorney corporations, it is no wonder that a liberal bias has pervaded our Supreme Court for decades. The Need to Change Whether you are for or against any rulings made by this Supreme Court, we must agree that the current selection process controlled by the Kansas Bar Association has to be changed. Otherwise, there is no connection to We The People…no accountability. Stephen Ware, a professor of law at the University of Kansas, submitted testimony to the Kansas Legislature on this topic. He published articles that researched how all 50 states select their supreme court justices. His research shows that the Kansas Supreme Court selection process is undemocratic, extreme, and secretive. His testimony then elaborated on those three areas. The Kansas Supreme Court will never be accountable for their decisions, and most importantly it will never represent Kansans or their values under the current selection scheme. What will it take to change? The only mechanism available is for We The People to amend the Constitution of the State of Kansas. This must be done to restore political power and authority to the people as intended. Democrat Party Remains Lost, Impotent and Still Doesn’t Get It by Martin Flowers I have to admit that after spending the last 15+ years writing about the lunacy of the far-left, there is little that they can do anymore that truly shocks me. However, their lunacy reached a whole new level during the recent DNC leadership vote last weekend. When given the opportunity to reassess their party platform and develop a political brand that was more palatable to the common American voter, the DNC chose to double down on their far-left crazy antics. Yes, you read that right, the DNC has doubled down on the same failed ideology that resulted in them losing the election in November 2024. The most absurd moment might have been the election of rabid anti-Second Amendment activist David Hogg as the party’s vice chairman. Post-election polling shows that less than 2% of U.S. voters are concerned about gun control or criminal justice reform (a.k.a. defunding the police), and yet these are the exact two issues that Mr. Hogg champions. I guess we can’t complain when our opponents shoot themselves in the foot. As much fun as it was to laugh at the continuing implosion of the Democratic Party, there are still concerns. The sad reality is that some of these insane ideas are continuing to cause problems for us here in Kansas. While having dinner with some friends recently the topic turned to work related issues. One of my friends, who works in law enforcement, informed me that agencies across Kansas are having issues with the new data management system. It seems that the system is so inefficient that law enforcement agencies in some parts of the state are waiting up to 10 weeks for an arrest warrant for criminal offenses. As a result, our state has individuals who are suspected of committing potentially violent crimes running our streets instead of being locked up, or on supervised release, while awaiting their trial on these charges. This is directly the result of DEI hiring and the refusal to hire qualified individuals and instead hiring individuals based on the twisted liberal ideology that has plagued our nation. Our courts have prioritized hiring people based on where they land on the intersectional matrix, as opposed to hiring people who are motivated to do the job. This has put our communities at risk and resulted in innocent people being victimized by criminals who should be behind bars, not running free to prey on law abiding citizens. It’s not just in our court system that this problem is impacting us. In the weeks since President Trump was inaugurated and began his sweeping reforms of our broken system of government, I’ve been watching the online booking reports for sheriff’s departments in multiple counties in Kansas. What I’ve seen is incidents of illegal aliens, held on detainers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, being released from custody back into our communities. The Trump administration has been very clear on the need to get these violent offenders off the streets and out of this country as soon as possible. And yet, we have left leaning law enforcement officers here in Kansas who are more concerned with pushing liberal ideology than with keeping communities safe. Yes, we made some tremendous gains last November…but clearly the fight is not over, in fact I would contend that it’s only just begun. It would be incredibly naïve to expect a group of people who did terrible things to our nation to simply give up because they lost an election. We should expect them to do even more terrible things because that is how they came to power in the first place. It’s often been said that desperate people will do desperate things, and the same is true of corrupt politicians who have lost power and want that power back. The question we need to ask now is, since they have lost power at the federal level, where will liberals look to consolidate their power to continue their fight. The answer is at the local government level. The Democratic Party knows that they have no viable candidates at the national or state level, so their only choice is to go to the roots of their party. Think of this as a major league baseball team in a rebuilding phase and the team starts bringing up players from the minor leagues. This explains why we’re seeing news reports about mayors, sheriffs, county commissioners, school board members, etc. who are being very vocal about obstructing the Trump administration’s efforts at enforcing immigration laws. These individuals are looking to develop some name recognition and establish their bona fides with the DNC so that they might be picked as candidates for state or even federal campaigns. What we need right now is Republicans who are willing to step up and challenge liberal incumbents at the local level to prevent them from establishing a foothold. We’re already seeing this foothold being established in some parts of Kansas. I live in Johnson County, and with a liberal controlled county commission and a newly elected liberal sheriff; we’re facing the possibility of higher taxes, handouts to liberal activist groups and potential attempts at gun control. Unfortunately, with Johnson County being under a “Home Rule Charter”, there are limits on what the state legislature can do to reign in these destructive efforts. This is a growing trend in Kansas, where we’re seeing liberal ideology spreading in areas where the state legislature has limited ability to counteract it. In the course of my work in government, I’ve seen some of this first hand. I saw a state agency that prioritized hiring individuals who identified as LGBT and those with far-left ideologies. I’ve worked in a school district where employment agencies were used to circumvent immigration laws and allow illegal aliens to be employed. I’ve been passed over for promotions because of DEI policies that required a minority candidate to get the promotion, despite other employees having more experience. Worst of all, I’ve been in a workplace where a DEI hire committed sex crimes, and it went unreported, because the employer was scared that reporting it would reflect poorly on the Democratic Party. In light of what I’ve experienced, I can’t help but laugh when I hear liberals claim that President Trump is a “threat to democracy”. The ideology promoted by liberals is a direct affront to the rule of law. There is a reason that in writing the preamble to the U.S. Constitution that James Madison placed “…establish justice…” first amongst the five sacred duties that our government is to perform. Simply stated, if our government does not abide by the rule of law and conduct itself in a fair and unbiased way, “We the People…” will not have functional government for long. I’m reminded of an interaction that occurred after the delegates had signed the U.S. Constitution. As Benjamin Franklin was leaving the convention he was asked by Elizabeth Willing Powel, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" Franklin famously replied “A republic, if you can keep it.” The far-left is determined more than ever before to make sure that we don’t keep this republic, and they will stop at nothing to see their twisted vision become a reality. We won a major victory in November, and it’s my sincere hope that just as the Confederacy’s defeat at the Battle of Gettysburg proved to be the beginning of the end for their movement, that in the years to come we will look at November 5th 2024 in the same light. However, there were almost two more years of hard fighting after Gettysburg before the Confederacy would finally lay down its arms. We still have a fight to win, but God willing we can continue to build on the momentum from last November and ensure that future generations will not have to endure the travesty of government we’ve seen in the recent past.
