Dear John,
It’s been a busy week, but I wanted to take a moment to update you on the important work being done to advance our conservative values here in Washington.
I am outraged by the misuse of taxpayer dollars within the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Department of State. The United States has been footing the bill on countless leftist programs, such as transgender opera in Colombia and promoting atheism in Nepal. It’s clear that the Biden administration did everything it could to expand their radical agenda worldwide—even at the cost of hard-working Americans. I applaud President Trump and his administration for combing through each and every program that taxpayers are funding. The buck stops here. It’s the government’s duty to ensure that U.S. taxpayer dollars are being used effectively, not for programs that, quite frankly, make no sense. It’s time to regain control of U.S. foreign aid to ensure we are funding programs that promote America First initiatives abroad.
Back home, we are seeing a surge of fraud investigations into child care centers across the state. My fellow Minnesotan Republican lawmakers and I wrote a letter to Governor Walz expressing our deep concern over the lack of operational oversight and failure to manage public services. One of the state-funded daycares under investigation received over 90 violations in the past few years—and still receives taxpayer dollars! Not only is this a mismanagement of taxpayer money, but it poses a risk to the children in care centers that are in clear violation of numerous laws and regulations. Just as President Trump is investigating each federal agency, we need to do the same here at home. Minnesotans deserve better from their leaders and more from their hard-earned tax dollars. We must push our state’s leadership to provide continual and effective oversight for all of our programs.
It was an exciting honor to join President Trump at the White House as he signed an executive order banning transgender athletes from women’s sports because this fight is about fairness, safety, and protecting our daughters. The radical Left loves to preach about women’s rights, yet they are actively destroying women’s sports. They have completely abandoned the very women Title IX was meant to protect. Young women across this country have been forced to share locker rooms, lose opportunities, and even suffer injuries, all to appease a misguided gender ideology. But no more. President Trump took action, and I proudly voted YES on the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act in the House. Now, it’s time for the Senate to do the same. We must codify these protections into law and stop this madness once and for all.
The House has reintroduced the Pet and Livestock Protection Act to delist the recovered gray wolf and remove its endangered species protections. The gray wolf population has rebounded to the point of destroying livestock and threatening agricultural communities. While I, along with nearly thirty lawmakers, support conservation efforts, we cannot let it come at the expense of our farmers and ranchers. It’s time to restore control to the states and allow them to manage wolf populations as they see fit. The attacks on farms, ranches, and communities are taking a toll, and we must act. We owe it to our farmers and ranchers to protect their livestock by passing this critical bill.
As always, thank you for your continued trust and support. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance with anything.
