Tough time, but this inspires me:

Hi John. I hope you are hanging in there.

Despite all of our work and progress in the 2024 Election — even flipping three U.S. House seats from red to blue — Donald Trump is our President. He’s working overtime with Elon Musk and his cronies to rig the government against everyday Americans and for the billionaires.

It’s tough to watch.

What keeps me motivated through all this, however, is the strength and determination from our California Strong leaders. California is a tenacious state, and we won’t be easily bullied by Donald Trump or National Republicans.

For example, newly elected Congressman George Whitesides has hit the ground running giving the first House Democratic Weekly Address of the term and using it to fight for wildfire relief for Californians.

With Republicans threatening to condition aid on California adopting right-wing policies, Rep. Whitesides is standing up and speaking out. George Whitesides flipped a district from red to blue in 2024 — he literally would not be in this fight without you.

Or what about California Attorney General Rob Bonta? AG Bonta knows you can’t change the United States Constitution with an executive order, but that is exactly what Donald Trump is trying to do — redefining citizenship with the stroke of a pen.

This is blatantly unconstitutional, which is why AG Bonta is taking Donald Trump to court.

And who could forget California’s newly-elected Senator, Adam Schiff. Senator Schiff has made clear that if Donald Trump continues to let Elon Musk run wild — randomly shutting down whatever departments or offices he feels like — then he’ll personally hold up all of Donald Trump’s State Department nominees until order is restored.

Corruption. Incompetence. Extortion. It’s heartbreaking to see from this new administration.

But what inspires me — and keeps me going in this work — are the bold California Strong leaders who are still standing and fighting.
