john –
Since taking office, Donald Trump has issued a flood of executive orders that completely derail our government as we know it.
Instead of working through Congress – the branch of government elected to represent the people – he’s choosing to go around it. And when Americans speak out? Trump’s GOP allies in Congress brush them off.
Just last week, one Republican senator literally told people to “tell someone who cares.”
But let's get one thing straight…that is not leadership, and it's certainly not what democracy looks like. Republicans in the House and Senate are rolling over like lap dogs, letting Trump override their decisions, and simply ceding power! What happened to three equal branches of government?
john, the people of Washington’s 8th District elected me to ensure their voices are heard in Congress. And I take that responsibility seriously. But Trump’s run around Congress and the empowerment of Elon Musk undermine the very foundation of our government.
Simply put: We cannot allow this to become the norm. We must stand up and demand that Trump and Republicans in the House and Senate respect the legislative process and allow Congress to do its job. This is about more than just one president. It’s about protecting our democracy for generations to come. I will always fight to ensure your voice is heard – but I need you with me. If you agree that governing by executive order is not how democracy works, add your name to my petition today >> [link removed]
