Cracking Down on Fentanyl to Save American Lives

Because of Biden’s border crisis, fentanyl poured across our southern border, destroying lives, families, and communities. Tragically, fentanyl is now the leading cause of death for Americans under 50 years old, making up nearly 70 percent of overdose deaths in our country. This week, I was proud to vote for the HALT Fentanyl Act – once again – because this bill is critically important in our fight to stop the flow of this deadly drug and its synthetics into the United States.

It's happening every day in every community in America, and it shouldn't be happening at all. I'm pleased this bill passed the House, and I urge my Senate colleagues to pass this bill and stop this deadly poison from coming into our country and killing so many young people.

Welcoming Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to the Capitol

Israel has every right to defend its existence and deter violence against its people – and the United States must continue to strongly support them in this mission. Threats to Israel’s national security are threats to America’s national security, and Israel’s enemies are our enemies.

Yesterday, I was honored to welcome Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the Capitol to reaffirm the importance of America’s relationship with Israel and share our continued support. The United States will always stand with Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East.

Defending Women's Sports from Woke Policies

This week, I was proud to join President Trump as he signed an executive order to say that men can't play in women's sports. Hardworking female athletes who have trained their whole lives to achieve their dreams have been forced to compete against transgender biological males under the guise of inclusivity.

Women’s sports should be reserved for biological women. In addition, no woman or girl should have to share a bathroom with or change in front of a biological male, and that is why I voted in support of the Protection of Women and Girls Act of 2025, which passed the House earlier this year. Hopefully soon, this bill will go through the Senate so it can become law in a permanent way.

For decades, the National Prayer Breakfast has united national leaders from all walks of life through prayer. I was pleased to welcome some of our faith leaders from Louisiana to the Capitol Building after we attended this year's National Prayer Breakfast.
