Hong Kong is about to lose their jury rights (along with many others). This is frequently on my mind as I worry that we are losing ours in the United States.

Imagining what "justice" without juries looks like is not comfortable, but we don't really have to imagine. We can look around the world and see the real life consequences.

Case in point: China. It is a strong reminder for me why it is crucial that we fight to keep and restore our jury rights!

We are lucky to have a unique, pop-up opportunity tomorrow to get a glimpse into what a country without the protection of independent juries looks like. In commemoration of the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protests, FIJA will be hosting an online screening of Tank Man ([link removed]), a short film written and directed by FIJA Vice Chairman Robert Anthony Peters.

Tank Man is a fictional speculation of what might have happened earlier in the day before the real life Tank Man was captured in the iconic image of him courageously blocking a line of tanks.

In the first 20 minutes or so, we'll introduce and watch the film. That will be followed by plenty of time to ask Robert all your questions.
