An op-ed in The Washington Post warns of “mass disenfranchisement” unless four key elements of vote-by-mail are put into place as soon as possible.
Those elements include states covering postage for mail ballots, changing laws so that it’s less likely voters will have their mail ballots invalidated, allowing third-party groups to collect and return sealed ballots, and allowing voters to vote by mail as late as Election Day.
Right now, none of the swing states most key to the election have implemented the measures.
