What a month we have had in the first three weeks of March! True Texas Project has been active in every moment of the 89th Texas Legislative session, getting Texans involved through talking to lawmakers, planning events, or just showing up.  

Last week, we joined Texas Gun Rights at the Capitol, supporting them in the fight to ban red flag laws. Our lawmakers needed to be reminded that our right to bear arms shall not be infringed!

The week before, we celebrated True Texan Day at the Capitol with about 80 amazing advocates from all over the state. Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham gave us an update on how Texas is helping President Trump with immigration and deportation issues, and we heard from several Senators and Representatives about legislative priorities.

For many of our guests, this was their first trip to the Capitol, but they were ready to get involved and become part of the solution. Events like this are the perfect way to get an up-close view of our legislative process and get to know the men and women who represent us.

While it is important to remember that they work for us, we also need to keep in mind that they need our help.

Showing up, making phone calls, and talking to our neighbors are all examples of ways we can help our representatives pass good bills and kill the bad ones. Our conservative representatives fight every day to preserve our freedoms, protect our border, uphold traditional family values, and limit government oversight. 

We can help! True Texas Project makes it simple (and fun) to get engaged and make a difference. There is still huge potential to do great things this session, but we need YOU!
