We're horrified by the airstrikes in Gaza late last night.
This latest escalation of violence reportedly killed hundreds of people, including more than 130 children — representing one of the largest single-day child death tolls in the last year. Children have been plunged back into a world of fear and death. Once again, nowhere is safe for children in the Gaza Strip.
This is unacceptable. The ceasefire must be reinstated and sustained, all hostages must be released and reunited with their families and humanitarian aid must be allowed in immediately.
The lives of 1 million children are at stake.
Since the onset of war in 2023, UNICEF has been working nonstop to send safe water, deliver lifesaving nutrition supplies, provide children with psychosocial support and bring supply trucks with the basic necessities children need to survive into Gaza. But it has been 16 days since the last truck delivering humanitarian aid crossed into Gaza. Electricity has also been cut to the main water desalination plant — leaving children and families without reliable access to safe water.
Over the past year and a half of war, supporters like you have played an essential role in providing emergency relief and supplies for children. But this moment has made it clear: this nightmare for children has not yet ended.
Your gift today helps send critical support to children in crisis situations both in Gaza and worldwide. Children in need of shelter, safe water, medical care and protection face ongoing threats to their lives. Please rush immediate support to reach every child with critical emergency assistance. >> |
Thank you for being there for children,
