Friend, Medicaid is a lifeline for more than 70 million Americans. So, why did Republicans just put it on the chopping block? Earlier this month, House Republicans passed a budget resolution that would cut $880 billion from the committee that oversees Medicaid over the next 10 years. But the savings from these cuts won’t be passed on to people like us — House Republicans’ budget would funnel the cash straight to tax cuts for billionaires and corporations. Nearly 42 million people of color rely on Medicaid to access health care, and more than half of Medicaid beneficiaries are children, people with disabilities, or older adults. These disastrous cuts would drive up medical debt and worsen health outcomes for everyone. Contact your legislators NOW and urge them to oppose brutal cuts to Medicaid.
