The strikes reportedly targeted Hamas commanders, senior officials, and the terror group’s infrastructure. According to the IDF, Hamas had been preparing new attacks against Israel and taken steps to rearm in recent weeks.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz have instructed the IDF to take strong military action against the terror group "in order to achieve the objectives of the war…including the release of all of our hostages, the living and the deceased."
