Last week was a nightmare in Congress. Despite Democrats’ near-total unity in the House, the GOP passed a disgraceful budget resolution that will have devastating impacts on our families.

I hate having to say that to you, but it’s the truth. And right now we have to face what’s happening with eyes wide open.

This CR not only induces massive cuts to programs like Medicaid and SNAP, but it also paves the way for Trump to claim he has the power to spend and cut as he wishes.

He doesn’t — that’s Congress’s power. It’s unlawful, unconstitutional, and DANGEROUS for any president to hold the power of the purse.

I will always fight to protect Social Security, Medicaid, veteran resources, and the critical programs that save American lives, and my House colleagues are standing right here with me.

But I’m disappointed in my Senate colleagues who voted for the GOP’s budget resolution.

I’m in the district this week and our constituents are airing their frustrations — not just with the GOP’s massive cuts and caving to Trump, but with the Democrats who aren’t standing up to them.

I’m on the ground in the district hosting town halls and meetings and hearing from the people I serve, but I know that everyone can’t join in person in PA this week. So I want to give you a chance to ask questions and air your concerns here as well.
