Since the Supreme Court’s disastrous decision last summer in Johnson v Grants Passthat cities can fine, ticket, and arrest people sleeping outside even when they have
nowhere else to go, we have seen over 150 anti-homeless bills passed across the country. Now, we're asking for your help to
fight back against the Trump administration’s anti-homeless, anti-Black, anti-poor, anti-immigrant, and anti-LGBTQ agenda.
We know that these policies will hurt everyone, but people who are Black, Brown, LGBTQ, disabled and/or immigrants will be hurt first, and worst. As always, people who sleep outside will be among the first to feel the full effect of these policies.
The National Homelessness Law Center is not backing down. We remain committed to protecting the rights of our unhoused neighbors and fighting to ensure that everybody has the housing and care they need to thrive.
Driven by the urgency of this moment, we areannouncing the official launch of the Fight Back Fund, our effort to mobilize supporters from across the country and pool our resources together to fight back against the worst attacks on the unhoused community we have ever seen.
We are committed to fighting back against the Trump administration’s plans to make homelessness worse. Inspired by and adapted from many other brilliant, bold movements for social change, the Law Center is adapting the following framework to ensure everyone has the housing and support needed to thrive:
The Fight Back Fund will support the Law Center’s legal, policy, and narrative change response to federal, state, and local efforts to punish people who have no choice but to sleep outside. By collectively pooling our resources, your donation of any amount will support the crucial efforts needed to scale up our work to meet the moment.
Donate and forward this email to a friend to help grow our fight!
