Friend,

Did you catch Jane Fonda’s recent speech [[link removed]] at the SAG Awards? Here was my favorite part:

“Have any of you ever watched a documentary of one of the great social movements, like Apartheid or our Civil Rights Movement or Stonewall, and asked yourself: Would you have been brave enough to walk the bridge? Would you have been able to take the hoses the batons and the dogs?

We don’t have to wonder anymore, because we are in our documentary moment.”

She is right – how we respond to this political moment tells us a lot about who we are, both as individuals and as a country.

That’s why I want to invite you to take part in the fight against Donald Trump’s agenda. President Trump may be in office for the next four years, but Democrats in your community aren’t sitting on their hands. They are nominating state and local candidates who can protect Connecticut from Trump’s cruelty, and engaging with battleground districts to make sure Democrats retake the House in 2026.

Believe me – I know it’s exhausting. But none of us want to tell our kids or grandkids that we spent the Trump years doom-scrolling on the couch. Instead, let’s say that we banded together with our neighbors and helped reclaim our country.

Below you can find a link to information about the Democratic Town Committee in your town. They each have regular meetings and upcoming events, and I know they would welcome your help.

– Jim
