Dear Friend,
I hope this message finds you well. I recently appeared on Fox News ([link removed]) to discuss an urgent issue impacting the safety and integrity of our communities in Minnesota.

Leaked emails have surfaced ([link removed]) showing that some lawyers in Minnesota are actively devising strategies to undermine the lawful efforts of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to remove illegal immigrants with violent records from our state. This is deeply troubling.
Sanctuary policies hinder cooperation between local and federal authorities, creating a fertile ground for illegal activities to thrive unchecked, and incentivize the illegal immigration that has led to millions of unvetted illegal immigrants in our country. This not only endangers public safety but also burdens local resources and law-abiding citizens.
In my recent op-ed, "The Mistake of Turning Minnesota into a Sanctuary State," ([link removed]) I outlined the negative impacts of such policies observed in other states. For example, New York City now struggles under the weight of an influx of illegal migrants, with daily costs to taxpayers around $5 million and an anticipated expense of up to $4 billion over the next two years to manage 30,000 migrants in various accommodations.
Similar strains are evident in Massachusetts and Colorado, where public services and healthcare providers are overwhelmed by the demands of illegal migrants. These states illustrate the disastrous consequences of sanctuary policies.
Sanctuary policies, while perhaps well-intentioned, lead to dire consequences for the communities they claim to help. They exacerbate humanitarian crises, encourage illegal entry, and are fundamentally unfair to local citizens and lawful immigrants.
As Minnesotans, it is our duty to uphold the rule of law and ensure the safety and prosperity of all residents.
Together, we can guide Minnesota towards common-sense policies that ensure our safety and uphold our values.
Working with you,
Jim Schultz
