ZOA Coalition thanks our voters; Here is helpful information for voting system problems

Dear ZOA Coalition Friends,

We are now in the second week of voting in the World Zionist Congress election! We would like to thank everyone who successfully voted for our terrific ZOA Coalition (Slate #15) – the slate of the thirty plus strongest pro-Israel organizations with the proven record of defending Jews, Jewish students, and Israel-Judea-Samaria.

We’d also like to thank and help anyone experiencing problems while trying to vote for us. Hopefully, the below FAQs will help. Why are voting problems occurring?

The organization that runs the election (AZM) contracted with an outside election company (Votem) to run the online election system. Votem’s system is having difficulty with the enormous volume of votes this year (triple the number of votes cast five years ago).

I registered to vote and paid $5. Do I have to do anything else?

Yes. Your registration is not a vote. You need to sign back in to ZionistElection.org with your email and PIN code; Press the “Already registered? Vote here” button; Vote for ZOA Coalition – Slate #15; press continue, press vote, and make sure that the “Thank you for voting!” screen pops up. Please note: There are about 10,000 people so far who registered to vote but did not actually vote! It’s important to actually vote.

I registered and paid $5, but then I didn’t receive a voting PIN code. What should I do?

First, check your email and email spam folder for an email from [email protected] with your PIN code. Sometimes it takes a while so wait a bit.

Second, if you did not receive an email with your voting PIN code, send an email (from the same email you used to register) to [email protected] with the word PIN in the subject line. Votem’s system is supposed to then automatically email your voting PIN code to you.

Third, if the above suggestions fail – or if you have other voting problems, the AZM voting help desk is at: [email protected] or phone number 888-492-4763. Or please feel free to call or email us at ZOA (212 481-1500; [email protected]). We’ll contact AZM on your behalf to try to fix the problem.

What should I do after I receive my PIN code?

Sign back onto the voting website (ZionistElection.org). Then press the red button that says: “Already registered? Vote here.” Or go back to the voting website using the link in the email that contained your pin code. Then input your email and voting PIN. Then choose ZOA Coalition, Slate #15. Then press the “continue” button. Then press the “vote” button. You have finished voting when you see the page that says “Thank you for voting.”

I paid $5 more than once because I had trouble voting the first time. Can I be reimbursed?

Yes. Send an email to [email protected] AZM says that they will arrange for you to be reimbursed for any duplicate payments.

I signed a petition for another slate last fall. Can I still vote for the ZOA Coalition now?

Yes. Signing a petition is not a vote. Likewise, “registering” or signing up on another slate’s website for a reminder is not a vote. All voting started just last week.

Can I vote using a paper ballot?

Yes. Paper ballots can be downloaded here; and instructions can be downloaded here. Or let us know if you need a paper ballot.

Note: If you use a paper ballot, it is important to check all boxes, answer all questions legibly, include payment and sign the ballot before sending it in. If there is a mistake or missing information or missing signature on a paper ballot, AZM throws the ballot out.
