Today is a national Medicaid Day of Action! Advocates across the country will be hosting press conferences, rallies, and phone banks to tell Congress: NO cuts to Medicaid. You can learn more about what is happening with Medicaid right now by reading our plain language Action Alert. Here are some ways you can get involved with today’s Medicaid Day of Action:
- Call your legislators: Use our plain language Action Alert to learn how to talk to your legislators about protecting Medicaid.
- If you want to call your legislator but you cannot talk on the phone due to a disability, you can use our proxy caller system! The proxy caller system lets volunteers call your legislators for you. You can sign up here, and a volunteer will tell your legislator your message and questions. You can learn more about our proxy caller system here. If you want to help people call their legislators, learn how to volunteer to be a proxy caller here!
- Share your Medicaid story: If you or a loved one use Medicaid services, you can make a video or social media post about your experiences. Make sure to tag your legislators on social media so they see your post! You can also use the hashtags #SaveMedicaid and #HandsOffMedicaid in your post.
- Find a town hall or virtual town hall near you: Some members of Congress will be hosting events today to show how important Medicaid is in their communities. Find your legislator’s website here to see if they are hosting an event!
Every action makes a difference. Thank you for helping us protect health care for disabled people across the country!
