Hi there, Governor of New York Kathy Hochul here with something I want to make very clear: Donald Trump is not a king, and New Yorkers are not going to bow down to his every whim.

Democratic governors like myself are working hard every day to fight back against Trump and his administration's power grabs – like his threats to withhold federal funds from states in order to force us to comply with his personal demands. But this fight isn’t one we can take on alone.

That’s why I am reaching out personally to ask you to chip in $3 – or more – before midnight to help the DGA elect Democratic governors who won’t back down from the fight to protect your fundamental rights and freedoms.

Team, no matter what the Trump administration believes, we are a nation of laws – not ruled by a king. We haven’t been ruled under a king in 250 years, and we’re sure as hell not going to start now. Which is why I am fighting like hell to stop Trump’s blatant overreach of power and attempt to undermine our states.

Democratic governors are not going to sit idly by and allow our states to be attacked – instead, we’re getting to work:

I recently signed shield laws to protect abortion patients and providers, and I am fighting to protect a doctor who prescribed abortion pills from prosecution in Louisiana – working to safeguard reproductive access no matter what state you live in.
Gov. Tony Evers in Wisconsin is working to lower prescription drug prices and protect Wisconsinites from price gouging.
Gov. Laura Kelly in Kansas is working to expand Medicaid and fully fund public schools.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan signed 16 bills to expand reproductive freedom and make contraception more affordable.
Gov. Katie Hobbs in Arizona is working to forgive billions of dollars worth of medical debt for up to a million Arizonans.
We are doing everything we can to stand up for our constituents and take action to defend our progress, protect our freedoms, and move our states forward.

However, with 38 governors’ races on the ballot this November and in 2026, including key battleground states like Virginia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia, our firewall of Democratic governors is in jeopardy.
