According to Carolina Demography, NC's Latino population is growing faster than any other ethnic group in the state. However, we have yet to have a Latina woman representative in the NC General Assembly. How can we work to ensure that healthcare access is equitable and meeting the needs of all North Carolinians?

Our esteemed panelists will include:
* Carla Catalán Day (she/hers/ella), 2022 Lillian's List Featured Candidate who ran a strong, grassroots campaign for NC State House District 74 in Forsyth County. Carla is currently the Title at LEAD NC and was the former Executive Director of the Hispanic League. She is a passionate advocate, small business owner, and political leader with a deep commitment to uplifting the voices of underrepresented communities, particularly working class families. Carla is also the host of Inspector Mama, a podcast dedicated to progressive parenting, social justice, and Hispanic issues. With a background in environmental health and public health, she has spent years building strong partnerships and creating programs aimed at community empowerment and equity.
* Destiny Lopez (she/her/hers), Co-President and CEO of the Guttmacher Institute and former Board Chair of Lillian's List. Destiny is a respected executive leader and strategist, with over two decades of experience working at the intersection of policy advocacy, communications, coalition building and reproductive justice. At the forefront of some of the movement’s most important fights and iconic campaigns – from getting emergency contraception behind the counter to repealing Hyde – her career has focused on a relentless commitment to abortion access and building the political power of BIPOC communities. Destiny has served in leadership roles at All* Above All and the All* Above Action Fund, ConwayStrategic, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, ACCESS Reproductive Justice, Fenton Communications, and NARAL Pro-Choice NY.
