Well folks, while this is not the outcome we hoped for, Iowans have made their voices heard. To that effect, I'd like to congratulate Theresa Greenfield on her victory and wish her the best of luck in the fight ahead.

I want to thank many of you who have blessed us with your time, money, and energy. All to make change happen. And while this one campaign may be over, now, more than ever, that change must happen, and it must happen right here in Iowa.

Our nation and our people are divided, oppressed, suffering, and scared. Instead of working to unite and reassure us, Donald Trump has acted as an authoritarian criminal and fueled the fires of unrest for political gain.

Let me be very clear: Donald Trump is the most dangerous president in American history and with every step towards a broken state taken, Joni Ernst has been by his side.

Joni Ernst must be defeated in order to flip the Senate blue and stop Trump's campaign of hate and division. If we fail, America will suffer unimaginably at the hands of Republican leadership.

Our campaign may have fallen short, but this movement and the change we're fighting for must continue. After all, I didn't run to be senator -- I ran to serve all of you. To put your interests front and center in Washington and deliver tangible change for our families.

Now it's up to each and every one of us to ensure that Joni Ernst is defeated this November. I'm proud to continue fighting alongside you for the change we need in America.
