DEAR FRIENDS,
This weekend we were at a new cockfighting location, this one outside of Mount Pleasant, Texas, in Titus County. As you can see in the aerial image, below, taken with a SHARK drone, this was a very large event.
At least four vehicles from the Titus County Sheriff's Office showed up. The very bad news is that although the police showed up, the criminal cockfighters had a locked gate, and the police said they would need a warrant to go in. For reasons we can't imagine, the county prosecutor did not attempt to get a warrant. The cockfight was stopped, but there should have been hundreds of arrests. Cockfighting is a felony in Texas, but the prosecutor's office appears to have completely dropped the ball.
This is the third cockfight in three weeks that SHARK has droned- two pits in Texas, and one in Oklahoma. We are routing the cockfighters, but we need support from law enforcement to finish the job, and that is proving to be a problem. Please contact the Titus County Prosecutor's Office, and let them know your feelings about hundreds of criminal cockfighters simply being allowed to walk away.
