Songs of Praise goes LGBT
--------------------------
Dear supporter,
The BBC has used Songs of Praise to unashamedly promote same-sex marriage at the licence-payers expense.
Sunday afternoon’s episode of Songs of Praise was billed as a ‘celebration of faith and marriage’. Any number of Christian couples could have been used to talk about this and explain how marriage is a picture of Christ's love for the Church. Instead the half-hour slot was used as a promo for the LGBT lobby. This is deeply offensive.
Two men were interviewed ahead of their same-sex marriage at a United Reformed Church on the outskirts of Glasgow. Excerpts from the ceremony, including the men kissing, were also broadcast. The traditional Christian understanding of marriage as between a man and a woman was not presented.
Those connected to the programme have boasted they are "not afraid of controversy" ([link removed]) . They seem to delight in it. Songs of Praise is still valued by some who wish to join in Christian worship when they are unable to get to church. They are distressed that it is being used to promote such a controversial issue.

If you wish to complain, you can use the BBC’s online form ([link removed]) , phone 03700 100 222, or write to BBC Complaints, PO Box 1922, Darlington, DL3 0UR. You should get a response within two weeks. Some tips on what to say are below.
Tips for what to say
------------------------------------------------------------
Your complaint should be brief. You may wish to include one or two of these points, in your own words.
* Say that mainstream Christians still define marriage as between one man and one woman but no one put this view forward.
* Ask if an advocate for traditional marriage will be asked to feature in a future episode.
* Say that Songs of Praise has been a Christian devotional programme, it should not be used to promote controversial issues which go against orthodox Christian beliefs.
* There is already huge LGBT coverage on the BBC, it doesn't have to be included in Songs of Praise.
Yours in Christ,
