Did you know I was born in Ireland?

After my dad came back from Vietnam and married my mom, they went to work on a cattle feedlot outside Dublin. Then I came along.

We returned home when I was a toddler, so I can’t claim to remember much of my time in Ireland. But still, I’ve always felt a special kinship with Irish culture and wisdom. I especially like this one:

Giorraíonn beirt bóthar , or “Two shorten the road.”

It’s a sentiment that resonates with me now, in these isolating, overwhelming times. It can feel like a Herculean effort just to turn on the news each morning, let alone prepare for another day of battling Trump’s bootlickers in Congress.

But having you here with me makes it a whole lot easier. Your contributions keep our tank fueled. Your support and kindness make the long road ahead feel that much shorter.

I don’t need to tell you that the next four years will be an historic challenge. But when the slow-motion car crash known as the Trump Administration is over, we’ll pick up the debris and clear a path forward together.

Thank you for walking the road with me these past eight years, my friend.

Before we say slán : Pitch in $5 or $15 to this honorary Irishman’s pot of gold today. Every coin gets us a bit closer to the end of the rainbow (and a post-Trump future). [[link removed]]
