Dear friend,
On Valentine’s Day 2018, my life changed forever.
That was the day my beautiful daughter, Gina Rose Montalto, was taken from us in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Losing Gina shattered our family, our community, and our sense of safety. The pain of that day never goes away—but out of that pain, came a mission: to ensure no other family has to experience the same loss.
That mission led to Stand with Parkland — a movement of parents and families who have turned our grief into action. Because while nothing can bring our loved ones back, we can fight for a future where no child has to fear for their safety at school. If you believe in this mission, I hope you’ll support our work today. [[link removed]?]

Since that horrific day, we’ve made real progress. We fought for the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act , which expanded background checks and mental health funding. We helped pass the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act here in Florida, strengthening school security and ensuring trained law enforcement officers or Guardians are present in every public school.
Earlier this month, after marking seven years since the Parkland massacre, I joined other families, educators, and safety experts at the Florida National School Safety Summit . We came together not just to grieve, but to act—to keep pushing for real solutions that will prevent future tragedies – because when we all put politics aside and focus on solutions, we can help save lives.
I write and speak about Gina, not because it’s easy, but because it matters. Because honoring her memory means turning loss into action.
I hope you’ll take a moment to read more in my recent op-ed, and if you want to be part of our efforts to protect America’s students, please donate to our mission for safer schools across America. [[link removed]?]

If you’ve been part of this movement —by speaking out, showing up, or even just keeping the conversation going — I thank you . It means more than I can say. And if you’re wondering what you can do, I hope you’ll keep pushing for solutions in your own community. Because every child deserves to feel safe at school.
With hope,
Tony Montalto
