WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews ([link removed] ) ) — The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) continues to cut wasteful grants and programs awarded under the previous presidential administration, saving U.S. taxpayers $1.7 billion.

EPA administrator Lee Zeldin announced the latest cuts on March 10. He is working with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and Elon Musk on a “line-by-line review of spending,” according to a news release ([link removed] ) .

While the cuts total $1.7 billion, there is a larger pot the group is seeking to claw back – $20 billion routed through Citibank on for the “Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund,” according to The Daily Wire.

The fund acted like a piggy bank for favored left-wing groups, with $2 billion going to “Power Forward Communities, a green group linked to Democrat Stacey Abrams,” The Daily Wire reported ([link removed] ) .

Zeldin has already identified nearly $60 million in ideological grants from the Biden administration for “environmental justice.”

Trump Is Draining the Higher Ed Swamp

A reckoning is coming for higher education.

On Friday, the Trump administration announced that it would pull $400 million in grants from Columbia University on Title IV grounds that the school has failed to protect students from repeated cases of antisemitism.

As a follow-up in a weekend of bad news for Columbia, one of its students faces deportation for supporting the Hamas terrorist group.

It sounds like this may be just the beginning. Many other schools could soon see hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars evaporate. And some Republicans in Congress are considering doing even more to put the screws to higher education with proposals to tax their gargantuan endowments to pay off student loans.

This isn’t the same old GOP that complains about the radicalism and increasing uselessness of academia but does nothing.

Despite Trump Win, RNC Keeps Foot On The Gas With Election Integrity Efforts

As President Donald Trump moves at breakneck speed to enact his agenda, the Republican National Committee is quietly racking up election integrity wins and gearing up for the next election cycle, the Daily Caller has learned.

The RNC won three lengthy legal battles related to the prevention of election fraud in March across the key states of Arizona, Georgia and Washington.

“These cases represent that a lot of times, things get started and resolved during an election year, but many times they don’t, and the RNC doesn’t walk away from them,” an RNC official told the Caller. “We are here to see these things through.”

In March, Arizona’s Court of Appeals announced that the secretary of state, Adrian Fontes, did not “substantially comply” with the state’s proper rule making process when finalizing the 2023 Election Procedures Manual. The court’s ruling was the result of a February 2024 lawsuit filed by the GOP, which argued that Fontes’s Election Procedures Manual would weaken “safeguards against non-citizen voting,” “unlawfully limited the ability to challenge early ballots,” and “violate[d] numerous provisions of state law meant to protect election integrity,” a party official shared with the Caller.
