Working Families Party

John,

On Friday, in a sad display of cowardice, Senate Democratic leadership capitulated to Trump and Musk.

TEN Democrats voted to clear the way for the GOP funding bill — which targets programs for working families like food assistance and education. They claimed that if they voted no, it would have empowered Trump and Musk to slash federal spending even more.

But guess what? Right after the vote, Trump and Musk made more cuts anyway. Within hours of the budget being passed, Trump issued an executive order to eliminate agencies like the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Interagency Council on Homelessness, the Minority Business Development Agency, and over a half-dozen more.1

Trump and MAGA Republicans want to ransack the government and steal health care from millions of families. The Senate Democrats willing to help them have lost the plot completely. And working families are the ones that will pay the price.

We need to build an alternative force in American politics — one that puts working families first and will OPPOSE Trump and Musk, rather than wave the white flag at the first sign of conflict. If you’re with us, please help the Working Families Party take up the fight by making a donation today.

Democratic leadership needs to realize that we can’t just sit back and wait until the next election. Voters are paying attention now, and they will remember who stood with working families in this moment, and who paved the way for more attacks and cuts from Trump and Musk.

The time for a real opposition party is now.

Thank you for joining us in this fight,

Team WFP
