Spring trout stockings are underway
It's go time! Nebraska Game and Parks is busy stocking rainbow and cutbow trout from one end of the state to the other, with many fish near or exceeding 12 inches. Trout stockings began the week of March 3 and are planned to continue throughout the month. Find a location near you and bring a friend!

Attend a virtual fisheries meeting
Hear from staff, give feedback and get updates on fishing near you at an upcoming virtual fisheries meeting. Six of them are planned for March 24-26, one for each Game and Parks Fisheries district, plus a statewide meeting discussing the new Aquatic Habitat Plan. Attend as many as you like!

Two Rivers Trout Lake now open, with new regulations
A sure sign of spring is the opening of the trout lake at Two Rivers State Recreation Area. It reopened March 8; the lake is stocked with more than 7,500 12-inch rainbow trout for your fishing fun! Be aware there are some new regulations in place (including one allowing for catch-and-release).

Become a youth fishing instructor
Love to fish, and want to help others learn about the activity you love? Become a youth fishing instructor! We offer free workshops to help you get started.
Receive the training and tools you need to conduct youth fishing clinics. And, as a trained volunteer, you'll have access to Nebraska Game and Parks' loaner fishing equipment and educational materials for events, as well as some program incentives. Several trainings are coming up — check our calendar to learn more and sign up.
