We’re launching with strong early momentum:
- We’re holding bi-weekly rapid-response briefings and strategy sessions so state leaders can respond to imminent threats to health care, public education and more.
- Our state policymaker network has grown from 95 to nearly 450 state legislators since December—along with a newly launched cohort of values-aligned State Financial Officers.
- We’re working in partnership with State Innovation Exchange, Emerge, AFT, Democracy Forward, and – of course, Sister District – to strengthen programming and support for policymakers.
But I want to be clear: as I step into this new role, Sister District’s work remains as urgent and vital as ever.
Over the past eight years, we’ve made a huge impact: electing hundreds of candidates, flipping chambers, and building a powerful bench of progressive leaders at the state level. Sister District will continue to power that effort—training and electing state legislative champions, and strengthening the civic engagement landscape. State Futures will be there to help complete the circle – supporting folks once they’re elected with the resources to lead and the community to thrive. I am excited to work with Sister District as a treasured partner.
I’m so proud to have worked with all of you to build this vibrant community. It’s been a tremendous honor and privilege to link arms together and do the work. As I transition to launch State Futures, I am taking so much inspiration and energy from everything we’ve accomplished together.
Thank you for your partnership and your passion – I hope you’ll join me on this new journey by signing up to follow our progress and get involved.
With gratitude and optimism,
Gaby Goldstein
