*Governor Gordon Praises Hard Work, Efficiency and Massive Return on Investment of Wyo’s Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute *

"“EORI is a shining example of the benefits of collaboration … ” - Gov. Mark Gordon"

CHEYENNE"," Wyo. – Governor Mark Gordon is praising Wyoming’s Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute [ [link removed] ](EORI) for its hard work, efficiency, and massive return on investment to the taxpayer. Located in Casper and created by legislation that established the Enhanced Oil Recovery Commission (EORC), the EORI is dedicated to improving and enhancing oil recovery according to the recently released report *"20 years of Collaborative Work with the Wyoming Oil and Gas Industry"**.* [ [link removed] ]

“Since its creation in 2004, the EORI has returned over ten dollars for every dollar provided by the state,” Governor Gordon said, “This means for a total investment over 20 years of $53 million, EORI has generated tax revenue of $558 million to the state and Wyoming citizens while keeping overhead low.”

The mission of the EORI is to work collaboratively with the Wyoming oil and gas industry and provide technical expertise to maximize stranded oil reserves, extend field life, and add revenue through the additional taxes from incremental production. The organization’s longstanding commitment to enhanced oil recovery spans three gubernatorial tenures, Governors Dave Freudenthal, Matt Mead, and Gordon.

“Wyoming’s one-of-a-kind EORI is poised to usher in what I referenced as "America’s Golden Age of Energy" just last month at an industry discussion with Harold Hamm in Houston,” Governor Gordon said, “EORI is a shining example of the benefits of collaboration between public and private sector leadership and industry professionals — at the local and national levels.”

“EORI is one of the most impactful institutions supporting oil and gas producers in the state of Wyoming,” said Scott Dobson, President and CEO, Principal Petroleum.

As Wyoming's only institute dedicated to enhanced oil recovery, EORI is also the only organization of its kind in the United States. Founded by former University of Wyoming Geology and Geophysics Department Head Jim Steidtmann, the organization has grown to reflect the value of meeting the need for more energy, specifically utilizing fossil fuels.

“What we're about is tertiary recovery, to utilize a resource to enhance stranded fields and get more revenues to the state, and that's what we do, and that's definitely a collaborative effort,” said EORI Commissioner Eli Bebout, former Wyoming Senate President and Speaker of the House. “Producers, the state government, the governor, the legislature, all of the above, and it definitely needs all of us.”

“I am incredibly proud of what has been achieved over the past 20 years and the work done by their commissioners, leadership, employees, and partners. If the past two decades are any indication, Wyoming has found a winning formula to further maximize our resources through the EORI,” Gordon said.
