My Second Round of Top 40 Priority Bills
[[link removed]]
The Texas Senate has started the 89th regular legislative session at breakneck pace. We have already passed 10 of my top 40 priority bills over to the Texas House. The following priority bills have already passed the Senate:
Senate Bill 2 [[link removed]] โ Providing School Choice
Senate Bill 4 [[link removed]] โ Increasing the Homestead Exemption to $140,000 ($150,000 for Seniors)
Senate Bill 5 [[link removed]] โ Combatting Dementia and Alzheimerโs โ Establishing DPRIT (Dementia Prevention and Research Institute of Texas)
Senate Bill 9 [[link removed]] โ Reforming Bail โ Keeping Violent Criminals Off Our Streets
Senate Bill 20 [[link removed]] โ Stopping AI-Generated Child Pornography
Senate Bill 21 [[link removed]] โ Establishing the Texas Bitcoin Reserve
Senate Bill 25 [[link removed]] โ Making Texas Healthy Again
Senate Bill 26 [[link removed]] โ Increasing Teacher Pay
Senate Bill 28 [[link removed]] โ Banning Lottery Couriers
Senate Bill 40 [[link removed]] โ Bail Reform
We are moving rapidly to ensure all these bills, which reflect the will of the conservative majority of Texans, have ample time to pass the Texas House and arrive at Gov. Abbottโs desk to be signed into law. This session has started out with a hopeful working relationship with Speaker Burrows. Working together with the House, this could be the best session ever for all Texans and especially for conservatives.
On Thursday, I announced the second round of my top 40 priority bills [[link removed]] โ Senate Bills 26-40. Senate Bills 26, 28, and 40 have already passed the Senate in recent weeks.
The Texas Senate is the finest, most deliberative legislative body in America. Texans, and especially conservatives, can count on us to lead the charge by passing our bold, conservative agenda to keep Texas strong. Our goal is to have all 40 of my, the senatorsโ, and the peopleโs priority bills passed by mid-April.

President Trumpโs Impact Is Undeniable

Border crossings have reached a historic low, thanks to President Trump's decisive policies. I joined Rob Finnerty on Newsmax Tuesday night to discuss this and more. Click here to watch the interview [[link removed]].
The House Thought They Were Going to Bust Our Chops Over the Texas Strip
ICYMI: Texas has about 12.2 million head of cattle, the most in America. I met with the Texas Cattle Feeders and Cattle Raisers a few weeks ago.
Out of curiosity, I asked each of them their favorite cut of meat. A few said New York Strip. I asked why we didnโt call it a โTexas Strip,โ since New York has mostly dairy cows. Just because a New York restaurant named Texas beef a New York Strip in the 19th century doesnโt mean we need to keep doing that.
The Texas Senate has filed a concurrent resolution to officially change the name of the New York Strip to the โTexas Stripโ in the Lone Star State. We will ask restaurants to change the name of this cut of meat the next time they reprint their menus, and grocery stores to do the same. We want this to catch on across the country and around the globe.
In a world filled with serious issues that we address every day at the Texas Capitol, this simple resolution will help better market Texas beef. Thatโs good for the Texas cattle industry. The Cattle Associations sure liked the idea.
Liberal New York shouldnโt get the credit for our hard-working ranchers. We promote the Texas brand on everything made or grown in Texas because it benefits our economy and jobs.
After the session ends this summer, I might take a short cruise across the Gulf of America and enjoy a juicy, medium-rare Texas Strip.
