John,
On Monday, my former opponent Andom Ghebreghiorgis announced that he is ending his campaign for Congress and endorsed my candidacy.
I'm honored to have received Andom's support at such a critical time. Especially now, I'm reminded that our unity — as progressives, as Black men, as educators — matters.
And we'll need that unity to beat an entrenched incumbent like Eliot Engel. We'll all need to come together and do everything we can so we can win the June 23 primary.
Today is the Federal Election Commission's fundraising filing deadline — the last one before our primary. We'll need to raise as much as we can to carry this grassroots campaign to victory. Will you chip in $5 so we can submit our strongest numbers yet to the FEC?

Despite the fact that our movement has been growing, giving Eliot Engel the most competitive primary he has faced in twenty years, he still has the upper hand, especially when it comes to money.
Even as we raised over $100,000 yesterday alone — all from individual donors — the last FEC filing showed that Eliot Engel has nearly five times more cash on hand than we do. And while we don't accept a cent from corporate PACs or lobbyists, that's where Eliot Engel gets most of his money.
Now more than ever, John, all eyes are on this campaign — especially in these 20 days leading up to the primary.
Unlike the other times I've asked for your support, your contribution this time around will not only go towards scaling our campaign strategy upwards and reaching voters. It will also go towards an official, public filing that the political media and the Democratic establishment will pay close attention to — including Eliot Engel.
Will you chip in $5 today in advance of our FEC deadline tonight?

This team continues to step up every time, and I couldn't be more proud. Thanks for all you do.
