Each month we hold Planning Commission meetings and present to the Board of Island County Commissioners on topics relevant to _Island County’s 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update [ [link removed] ]_. Below are our upcoming meetings and engagement opportunities.  

*Planning Commission*

The _Planning Commission is meeting on March 19 [ [link removed] ]_ and will hold a public hearing on proposed zoning code changes in Freeland. The Planning Commission will also have a workshop to review and discuss staff recommendations for housing solutions as part of the Comprehensive Plan update. 

*Board of County Commissioners*

Long Range Planning will be presenting at the BOCC on March 19 on the Planning Commission review of recommendations made by Island Roots Housing, Whidbey Environmental Action Network, Agriculture Resource Committee Island County, and the Camano American Legion. *Engagement Opportunities** – Clinton Comments Due March 21*

Island County Planning and Community Development has developed a draft of the _Clinton Subarea Plan [ [link removed] ]_ as part of the 2025 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update. Public comments will be accepted on this draft plan until March 21, 2025. Comments can be submitted via U.S. Mail to the Planning and Community Development Department, 1 NE 7th St, Coupeville, WA 98239, via email to [email protected]_, or via our public engagement website _www.islandcounty2045.com/compplan/clinton [ [link removed] ]_.
