Spring is almost here, and as always, there’s no shortage of work to do for Maryland! Over the past two weeks, I’ve been traveling across the state, testifying on critical legislation, and continuing to fight for a strong economy. Here is what I’ve been up to, and some of the work I’ve been doing to stand up to the reckless DOGE cuts, support Maryland federal workers and scientists, and prepare our state for the challenges ahead. Thank you for your support.
✅ Promoting Tax Relief on the Eastern Shore – On March 5, I visited Delmarva Community Services and Shore Up! Inc. to discuss tax credits and the benefits of Direct File, a new tool to make filing taxes easier for Marylanders. We must continue to ensure every resident gets the tax relief they deserve.
✅ Protecting Maryland’s Economic Future – The Maryland Board of Revenue Estimates (BRE) met on March 7 to revise state revenue projections, lowering them by $280 million for these next two years. These uncertain times are a direct result of the reckless spending decisions coming out of the Trump Administration. As Chair of the BRE, I will continue working to ensure Maryland stays fiscally responsible while investing in our communities.
✅ Standing with NIH Scientists – On March 8, I joined hundreds of Marylanders at the gates of the NIH to protest the extreme and unnecessary cuts to research funding imposed by Trump & Musk through DOGE. The world depends on NIH’s life-saving research, and I will always stand up for Maryland’s leadership in science and innovation.
✅ Celebrating International Women’s Day – I was in Frederick with County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, Elizabeth Chung, CEO of the Asian American Center, and inspiring young leaders to celebrate the contributions of women across Maryland.

Every day, I am working to ensure Maryland’s economy is stronger, fairer, and more accessible to all. Thank you for being part of this journey—I’m grateful for your support, and I look forward to keeping you updated in the weeks ahead!
Onwards!
