In 2019, pro-equality candidates took back the Virginia House of Delegates. They ratified the Equal Rights Amendment, made sexual orientation and gender identity protected classes to combat discrimination in housing and workplaces, and expanded hate crimes legislation to protect LGBTQ+ people. They banned conversion therapy - the first state in the U.S. South to do it - and passed legislation benefiting trans kids in schools. They did a lot of great work!

The LGBTQ+ candidates we elected in 2019 were at the forefront of this fight. And now, many of them are on the ballot again - and they need our help! Pitch in today to elect LGBTQ+ candidates in Virginia and protect our pro-equality majorities!

During the 2025 legislative session, two of our LGBTQ+ incumbents passed the first hurdle to placing marriage equality on the ballot. But to ensure voters see the measure, they must pass the bill again next year. To protect marriage in Virginia, we have to hold the majority in 2025.
