Trump's Department of Interior has announced they will gut the Endangered Species Act, stripping protections for imperiled wildlife and creating loopholes to allow corporate polluters to proceed on projects — even when it puts at-risk species in peril.

Here's what you need to know: The Endangered Species Act is our most effective and essential law to protect wildlife. Over 99% of species protected by this bipartisan bill have avoided extinction.

If these new rules are allowed to go into effect, not only will species go unprotected, but federal agencies will also be unable to factor in the effects of climate change on wildlife when making decisions about endangered animals.
