First came Hurricane Maria, then several swarms of earthquakes, and now the coronavirus pandemic.

The people of Puerto Rico have witnessed suffering beyond words including thousands of U.S. citizens’ lives lost. We have watched as a broken federal emergency system has failed Puerto Ricans, leaving them facing the aftermath alone.

Their homes gone, many are living in crowded temporary shelters at a time when social distancing is vital to surviving COVID-19. Yet, they have no choice.

We cannot go another day watching Puerto Ricans fight for survival alone. We can and must act now! They have suffered enough.
