Introduced the 1071 Repeal to Protect Small Business Lending Act
Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy, and it is crucial that they can access affordable credit to support and grow our communities. I introduced the 1071 Repeal to Protect Small Business Lending Act to eliminate costly regulatory burdens on financial institutions and ensure greater access to credit for small businesses. It is time to put an end to this overly broad, burdensome, and difficult to implement rule-making. Read my exclusive with American Banker and full release.
Attention TX-25 Small Business Owners…
As a small business owner myself, I know how tough it can be to navigate BOI reporting. Join my virtual info session next week with Rep. Monica De La Cruz and TX CPAs to break down FinCEN’s BOI requirements and how they impact you. Register here.
Financial Services Committee Hearing
In November, the American people made their message very clear. American families, small businesses, community bankers, and farmers and ranchers are tired of burdensome regulations that hinder the financial services industry. In this week’s hearing titled “Make Community Banking Great Again,” I discussed the negative impacts of the CFPB’s Section 1071 Small Business Data Collection Rule. Watch my line of questioning here.

Small Business Committee Hearing
On Wednesday, I led the first House Committee on Small Business hearing of the 119th Congress. My committee is proud to represent the hardworking men and women of Main Street America here in Washington. This Congress, alongside President Trump, we will prioritize policies that support Main Street, strengthen economic opportunity, and create an environment where small businesses can grow and create jobs. There is hope on the horizon. Watch my opening statement here.
Protecting Women's Sports
In January, House Republicans passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, and this week President Trump signed an executive order banning transgenders from women’s sports. We will always stand up for women to ensure a safe and fair playing field.
Congratulations to the Gordon Longhorns
I spoke on the House floor to recognize the Gordon Longhorns for their win over the Whiteface Antelopes with a score of 70 to 24 to become UIL Class 1A Division 1 State Football Champions. The Longhorns finished the season with a perfect record of 15 wins and zero losses. I am proud that all their hard work and dedication throughout the year paid off.
