John, America is facing a wake-up call.
Systemic racism is a deadly threat to Black communities. So we’re in the streets demanding justice. And today, we need your help on something important.
One of the greatest impediments to justice is the cowardly local prosecutor. We just don’t have enough district attorneys who are willing to bring charges against the police when they treat Black lives like they don’t matter.
We can change that. Real Justice recruits, equips, and elects progressive prosecutors who are unafraid of the police. There are 2,400 district attorneys across the country, and we are running campaigns to replace them with reformers who will finally hold cops accountable.
In Minneapolis, District Attorney Mike Freeman failed to charge police officers involved in fatal shootings or violence. It took three days of protests to get him to charge one of four officers involved in the murder of George Floyd. The other three are still free.
In 2018, we endorsed Freeman’s challenger, Mark Haase, a reformer who would have fought for accountability in policing. But we lost by a slim margin. We will have another chance to oust DA Freeman, and we cannot let this chance slip away again.
There’s a lot of big money in these district attorney races. They’re majorly consequential. And our work depends on supporters like you showing up, speaking out, and contributing.
Together, we will bring real justice to our communities.
