There's record LGBTQ+ representation in elected offices nationwide
-- The Advocate
John, in the midst of a lot of bad news, I wanted to share some very good news with you. At least 495 LGBTQ+ candidates won their races in 2024, and at least 1,389 LGBTQ+ leaders are currently serving in office!
Despite the national headlines, LGBTQ+ people are fired up and ready to run. It’s because of investments from donors like you that we’re able to elect pro-choice LGBTQ+ candidates and change the face of government.
As the only national organization dedicated to electing pro-choice LGBTQ+ candidates, LGBTQ+ Victory Fund and our amazing supporters made history happen, John. We did it in 2023, 2022, 2021 and in 2020. We've been shattering rainbow ceilings since 1991!
And now is not the time to slow down. We're endorsing pro-choice LGBTQ+ candidates running in 2025 and we're going to make history again. Donate today to keep the momentum going!
Supporters like you ensure we can back pro-choice LGBTQ+ candidates all around the country. Like Michigan State Representative Noah Arbit, who just passed an updated hate crimes bill that ensures LGBTQ+ people are legally protected. Like Georgia State Senator Kim Jackson, who's introduced a bill that would actually create equality in sports - without targeting or demonizing trans people. Like our Minnesota legislators, who successfully passed a bill protecting trans rights and have created a safe haven against Trump's hateful executive orders.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are over 1,389 pro-equality leaders in office working overtime to protect our rights. And we absolutely cannot give up the fight to elect even more: they need reinforcements! Pitch in today to keep the momentum going and elect more pro-choice LGBTQ+ leaders!
Thanks again for your support!
