Energy prices are soaring, and too many Minnesotans are being forced to choose between paying their bills, buying food, or affording healthcare. Government mandates and regulations are driving up costs. I recently spoke in the Senate Energy Committee about how Democrat policies -- like the 2040 “Blackout” energy bill from two years ago -- are making things worse. Instead of lowering costs, Democrats are making energy more expensive and then handing out subsidies to “fix” the problem.

I’ve seen the impact firsthand. A woman in my district, wheelchair-bound and struggling, came to my office in tears because she couldn’t afford her energy bill.

A retired executive showed me a solar lease offer worth thousands per month, calling it "the biggest scam" he’d ever seen. He’s right. These policies aren’t helping working families. They’re making things harder. We should be investing in affordable, reliable baseload energy like nuclear power -- not passing energy policies that make things worse.
