I'm so grateful for each and every day I have the honor of serving you in Congress. I never take that responsibility for granted. And especially at this moment, I promise to be your fighter and always keep North Jersey in the bullseye with everything I do.
As you know I am the first Latina elected to Congress in New Jersey. Being the first isn't always easy or convenient, but it does highlight the incredible opportunities this country affords.
I've spent my career fighting for better schools, more affordable healthcare, and fixing our broken criminal justice system. I didn't spend it chasing a title. I spent it fighting for what's right. And that's the spirit I bring with me to Congress.
As you know — I won my race in November with under 51% of the vote. It was a close one. And that means GOP dark money groups are already making spending decisions that involve targeting my district - NJ-09.
